Background information |
Human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) belongs to retrovirus group that causes acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS). There are two types of HIV virus characterized: HIV-1 and HIV-2. Viral envelope protein is cleaved by protease to form gp120 and gp41. Gp120 contains constant domains and variable loops (C1-4 and V1-5) and CD4 binding site belongs to the constant region. The first step of virus infection is to fuse T cell CD4 through viral gp120 CD4 binding site, so CD4 binding site on gp120 is relatively conserved and antibodies target here can be widely used for various virus strains |

This antibody binds HIV gp120 CD4 binding site of most virus strains, such as HxB2, YU2, JRFL, JRCSF, MW965 and others. It has been verified in our platform (see the following figure). Optimal working dilutions must be determined by the end user |
